Koh Yao Yai
This island is occasionally referred to as the "Phuket of the past." It is said to resemble what the favorite tourist resort for visitors from the CIS countries looked like half a century ago: dense jungles, rough roads, the absence of foreigners, and a tranquil rural life. This small island is home to just 2,500 people. The local residents, much like half a century ago, are primarily engaged in traditional livelihoods such as fishing, cattle farming, agriculture, and rubber production.
The hilly island is almost entirely covered in greenery. Buffalo, cows, and goats graze on picturesque meadows, while rice fields and rubber plantations grow nearby. It's nearly impossible to find a single dog on this island, and it's a true haven for cats. This is a place where time has stood still, and nature reigns in its purest form, reminiscent of times past and the harmony it brings.
